Alt Fin & Co. started in Nosara, Costa Rica with one idea: surf fins shouldn't all look and feel the same. We built our shop around fins made by independent shapers and boutique brands from around the world — not just the big mass-production names you'll find everywhere else. Here's what that actually means for what's in stock.

Legendary single fins from shapers who defined the category

Our single fin wall carries pro models from some of the most respected names in retro and log surfing: Skip Frye, Wayne Rich (Highliner), Renny Yater (Yater Spoon), Josh Farberow, Joel Tudor, Tyler Warren, Mikey February, Andy Nieblas, and a Captain Fin x Alex Knost collab. If you ride a single fin log, fish, or noserider, this is a lineup you won't find assembled anywhere else.

Twin fins for speed and drive

Our twin fin lineup runs from True Ames and Captain Fin classics to J Bay Design's keel-focused shapes (Hercules, Phoenix, Aquila, Taurus, Storm), plus Christenson and Stüssy collab twins. And our own Alt Fin x Sieve Co. collab twins — built from recycled carbon and recycled ocean-bound plastic — sit right alongside them.

Thrusters, quads, and 5-fin setups for performance boards

For modern performance shortboards, we stock Captain Fin, Island Lines, J Bay Design, and True Ames thrusters and quads, plus Album quad sets and full 5-fin (2+1, quad+trailer) configurations for boards that want options.

Side bites, alt setups, and the weird stuff

Asymmetric fins, bites, twinzers — if it's an unconventional fin configuration, we probably have it. This is where Alt Fin leans hardest into "different on purpose."

Limited-edition and vintage

We also carry rotating limited-edition drops from Hydrophile Surfcraft (The Answer, Crypt Key, Night Goat, Margin Walker, Flow-Thru — most in editions of 16), plus a vintage & used section for collectors hunting discontinued shapes.

Alongside all of that, we make our own line in partnership with Sieve, a German fin maker — twin fins, thrusters, and singles built from recycled carbon fiber or recycled plastic bottle lids instead of virgin material.
